Let's all Connect about being Human Beings

Creative Sanctuary presents an evening of togetherness with an old friend of the Sanctuary, Liana Gabel, and her touring entourage of upright bassist James Bristol (of the Hills and Rivers) and singer songwriter Ella Ray Kondrat. You may remember Liana from two artist residencies at the Sanctuary in 2016 and 2017 where she developed and recorded Go Outside and One Take EP, and taught tap dancing classes among many other things. Through her music, Liana Gabel takes seemingly familiar stories, themes, and tropes about being human and transforms them into that which is profoundly unfamiliar and novel, yet warm and comforting. Her human beings EP, released summer of 2026 and produced/engineered by a Grammy award winning cast of talent, really gets to the heart of things. Ella Ray Kondrat will also do a solo set; her music has been described by music writer John Burdick as possessing “an other-worldly quality, like the folk music of an unknown dimension,” her songs blend intimacy, imagination, and timeless storytelling into a sound uniquely her own. Katie Belknap and James Zeller (aka the Ponies of Harmony) will open the show. No doubt all participants will find themselves together on stage by the end of the show.
