Liana Gabel

Liana Gabel is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and percussive tap dancer based in Rosendale, New York. She blends Pete Seeger-inspired heart folk with jazz, driving her participatory songs with tap-dance rhythms in place of a drummer and writing frank, often subtly funny lyrics built for group singing. Her releases include the albums A Collection of Songs, Rest and Heal, and Go Outside, the latter written and recorded during artist residencies at The Sanctuary in Arcata, California, along with the EPs Human Beings, One Take, and Magdalen: Blue, and the singles After the Bomb, The Tidal Breeze, and Messages He Wants to Send. She has performed at the Newport Folk Festival, Club Helsinki in Hudson, The Summer Hoot, and the Bon Odori Dance Festival for peace, and tours with the VANue, a van converted into an outdoor stage and community open-mic space.
