About this event
In Earthquake Trauma: My Path to Recovery, ceramicist Conrad Calimpong presents a deeply personal body of work mapping the journey from devastation to healing at the Morris Graves Museum of Art (Humboldt Arts Council, 636 F St, Eureka). On view September 5 – October 25, 2026 during museum hours (Wed-Sun, 12-5pm). Utilizing the raw, unpredictable nature of clay, Calimpong explores the psychological and physical aftershocks of trauma — vessels are intentionally fractured, warped and torn to mirror seismic upheaval, then meticulously reconstructed with visible mending to celebrate resilience and the beauty in scars.
