Northtown Books
Northtown Books is Humboldt County's community independent bookstore since 1965, offering a curated selection of new fiction, nonfiction, children's books, local Humboldt history, magazines and gifts in downtown Arcata. The store hosts author readings, book signings and book groups and is known for staff picks and knowledgeable recommendations. After a devastating early-January fire destroyed its longtime 957 H St. location, the beloved shop reopened in 2025-2026 at 737 G St. in Arcata sharing space with Dandar's Boardgames and Books while continuing online sales.
