Matthew Wallace and the Flying Saucers

Texas-born, Eureka-based songwriter Matthew Wallace blurs southern rock and soulful blues with energetic psychedelic groove. Backing band The Flying Saucers features Eddie Mitchell on drums and Scotty "rock 'n roll" Robertson on bass — veterans of the Humboldt scene. Humboldt County Fair debut on Friendship Square, Thursday August 13 at 7:00 PM, as part of the 130th Annual Humboldt County Fair (Aug 12-16 in Ferndale). Daily fair attractions include Violin on Fire, Sea Lion Splash, Captain Tall Tale, JD Platt & the K9 Kings Flying Dog Show, Mermaid Cove, Wooden Creations chainsaw carving, livestock shows, carnival and vendors. Thursday is Sensory-Friendly Carnival 12-2PM; evening also features Sirens Tavern (18+) in the Grandstands 7-10PM.
