Saul Smith Stewart

Saul Smith Stewart is a bassist based in Humboldt County, California, performing on both upright and electric bass. Comfortable across jazz, country, folk and chamber settings, he works as a sideman throughout the region's music scene, appearing with the femme Americana outfit Harmonic Howl, the James Zeller Trio and songwriter Ruby Ruth George, among others. He has performed chamber works alongside Cal Poly Humboldt music faculty and takes part in local tribute shows honoring artists such as Thelonious Monk and Townes Van Zandt.
