Trinidad State Beach is a scenic state beach in Humboldt County, located 19 miles north of Eureka just off Highway 101 near the town of Trinidad and managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation as part of the North Coast Redwoods District. Tucked in a secluded cove, it features sandy beaches, dense coniferous forests, open bluffs and offshore sea stacks that are part of the California Coastal National Monument. Visitors hike through woods and bluff trails to the beach for tidepooling, beachcombing, surfing, fishing and picnicking, with colorful tide pools that supply specimens to Cal Poly Humboldt's Fred Telonicher Marine Laboratory.
