Tolowa Dunes State Park is a 4,000-acre California State Park on California's northern coast near Crescent City, centered on an ancient sand dune complex surrounding Lake Earl and Lake Tolowa. The park encompasses ocean beach, river, open and vegetated dunes, wooded ridges and wetlands that support diverse birds, animals and plant life and serve as an important stopover on the Pacific Flyway. Visitors come for hiking, birdwatching, salmon and steelhead fishing on the Smith River, and primitive camping at walk-in and horse-camp sites.
