The Mattole Valley Community Center (MVCC) is a nonprofit community hub in a renovated historic schoolhouse at 29230 Mattole Road in Petrolia, founded in 1975 and housed in the building since 1978. It hosts the weekly Sunday Market (10am-1pm year-round, rain or shine), classes in yoga, dance, Zumba, qi-gong and Aikido, cabaret evenings, concerts and theatrical performances, plus community meetings, fundraising festivals and private rentals, and upstairs houses the offices of the Mattole Restoration Council.
