Freshwater Farms Reserve is a 74-acre 'wild and working landscape' on Myrtle Avenue just east of Eureka, owned and managed by the Northcoast Regional Land Trust as its ambassador property. The reserve combines a historic dairy farm with working cow pastures, row crops, the California Native Plant Society North Coast Chapter nursery, and a restored tidal wetland that provides rearing habitat for Coho salmon, steelhead and tidewater goby. It features a free 0.75-mile nature trail open daily 9am to 6pm and hosts stewardship work days, educational programs, bird walks and community volunteer events.
