"The System" Documentary + Soundtrack Release Party

"The System" (2026) is a documentary scored by Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo, along with filmmaker/musician Jim Jarmusch, Yeah Yeah Yeahs drummer Brian Chase, guitarist Yonatan Gat, cellist Leila Bordreuil, and more, about activists who refuse to accept the status quo. As climate crises, economic inequality and political instability are felt worldwide, we follow three passionate idealists: Pippi van Ommen, co-founder of Extinction Rebellion in Amsterdam; Henk Ovink, an international water diplomat in New York; and Berlin-based climate activist and antifascist Tadzio Müller. Award-winning director Joris Postema ("Stop Filming Us") does not provide simple answers, but shows that change is possible. Silver Current Records, headed by Ethan Miller (Howlin Rain, Heron Oblivion), starts the night off at 7 pm with an album listening party before the film, with limited edition vinyl available for purchase a week before the album's official release. Film at 8 pm. Limited capacity; online tickets recommended.
