About this event
The Historic Eagle House presents The New Pelicans with special guest Beverly Twist, performing in the ballroom on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, from 7-10 PM. The New Pelicans — formed from members of the Americana band The Handshakers, including guitarists/singer-songwriters Mike Bynum and Michael Walker, mandolinist Darren Weiss, bassist Gary Davidson and drummer Paul DeMark — play an opening set of originals and covers spanning Southern soul, alt-country and rock 'n' roll. The second set features Beverly Twist (lead singer and multi-instrumentalist of the early-jazz group Canary and the Vamp) performing Western swing, swing standards and a vintage bolero. Sponsored by Karen Orsolics, Mark + Val Jansen, Bayfront Restaurant, Humboldt Mortgage, The Vision Center, Scott Hammond State Farm Insurance, and Lee and Jackie Turner.
