The Minutes

Redwood Curtain Theatre presents Tracy Letts' 'The Minutes,' a dark comedy set entirely during a small-town city council meeting, where newcomer Mr. Peel presses for answers about missing meeting minutes and a council member's unexplained absence. What begins as sharp satire of petty bureaucracy builds to a sinister, shocking revelation about the town's founding and what people will do to protect a comforting version of history. Directed by Craig Benson. Runs about 2 hours 15 minutes with one intermission. Contains sensitive themes including racial stereotypes, racial slurs, violence and reference to sexual harassment, plus strobe/blackout/fog effects; not recommended for anyone under high school age. Moderated talkbacks after the Sept 25 and Oct 4 performances.
