Soft as Snow, DPSD

SOFT AS SNOW is the Berlin-based Norwegian duo of Oda Starheim and Øystein Monsen — rough sampling, slippery rhythms and noisy textures with Oda's shapeshifting vocals, compared to Fever Ray, Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire (latest album on Beacon Sound ft. Brother May). DPSD is director Danny Perez's (ANTIBIRTH, Animal Collective's ODDSAC) audiovisual project with wild video projections and beat-driven electronics infused with broken guitar melodies — an ominous but playful take on power electronics and psych-rock informed by years touring with BLACK DICE and PANDA BEAR doing visuals. Bar opens at 5pm for 2 for $5 tacos; Miniplex.
