Join Friends of the Eel River and allies for the monthly September Solidarity Gathering on Monday, September 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Humboldt Brews (Humbrews) in Arcata — held on the second Monday of each month. This month features a public meet-and-greet with local bus drivers in partnership with the Coalition for Responsible Transportation Priorities (CRTP) and AFSCME 1684: meet the folks who keep buses moving, ask questions about how transit works, and show appreciation for essential workers. Friends of the Eel River will also provide updates on Eel River news and dam removal advocacy, including the SoCal water grab and last chance to submit comments to FERC on the scope of dam removal impacts (comment period through Sept. 18). Part of an ongoing series to plan creative resistance, learn about community initiatives, and take meaningful action. Humbrews donates a portion of sales during the event — bring family for dinner and drinks. Includes raffle, engaging activities, and opportunities to learn about and share local organizing efforts. No expertise required.
