Say When...

Say When is a new comedy by Minneapolis-based Simple Machines, presented at Dell'Arte International's Carlo Theatre for its California premiere. Co-written by Mark Benzel and Matt Spring and the Ensemble, it follows Evander Berry Wall, the late-1800s 'King of Dudes' — a man, his two Chow Chows, and a ridiculous desire to be the best-dressed man of the 19th century. Through striking costumes, projections, and clown, the interdisciplinary work examines wealth, social responsibility, and excess. Performances Fri, Sept. 25 and Sat, Sept. 26, 2026 at 7pm (bar/box office/door 6:30pm). Runtime roughly 75 minutes. Simple Machines also offers related physical-theater workshops Sept 21-26.
