About this event
Join Outdoor Adventures for a free, beginner-friendly backpacking trip on the DeMartin Trail in Redwood National and State Parks as part of our Queer Outdoors and Forests For All programs. This trip is designed for queer Cal Poly Humboldt students to build backcountry skills, connect with community, and spend a weekend exploring the redwoods and North Coast together.
Experienced Outdoor Adventures guides will teach the basics of backpacking, including packing, camp setup, backcountry cooking, Leave No Trace, and other outdoor skills. A Redwood National and State Parks interpreter will also join us to share more about the park and the places we travel through.
No previous backpacking experience is required. Backpacking gear, transportation, breakfast, and dinner are provided.
Thanks to our partnership with Redwood National and State Parks, this trip is free for Cal Poly Humboldt students.
There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting on Monday 9/28 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm in RWC 124 to gather all necessary backpacking equipment.
