Celebrate the 36th annual Natural Fiber Fair Sept. 12-13, 2026 at the Arcata Community Center (321 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Arcata) — ADMISSION IS FREE. Hours: 10am-5pm Sat, 10am-4pm Sun. A celebration of weaving, knitting, spinning, dyeing, felting, basketry and more featuring vendors from California, Oregon and beyond selling fleeces, fibers, yarn, tools, books and finished goods, plus Fleece Market, Used Equipment Booth, and exhibits of handcrafted items. Enjoy free hourly demos, all-ages hands-on activities, the Fiber Circle social stitching circle (sponsored by Humboldt Handweavers and Spinners Guild) and Sunday Spinning Contest. See contemporary art quilts by featured artist Katie Pasquini. Half-day workshops with instructors including Tracy Shapiro (Scandinavian Baskets), Janet Heppler (Mushroom Dyeing), April Sproule (Boro Stitching) and Hope Wright (Wet Felting) available for separate fee — pre-registration encouraged.
