About this event
Explore the Gardens' natural history and learn to think like a naturalist with MCBG Horticulturist Paul Ruiz-Lopez on Select Saturdays 10:00 AM-12:00 PM through the horticultural and natural areas of the 47-acre Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Plants are the primary focus, with monitoring for birds, marine mammals, insects and amphibians; theme varies seasonally — Conifers of MCBG (Mar 14 & 28), Spring Coastal Wildflowers (May 9), Local Bees (Sept 19), Lichens and Bryophytes (Nov 7 & 21). Mostly on accessible hard-packed fine-gravel main trails with optional off-trail wandering. Registration includes Gardens admission; members attend free.
