About this event
Join Humboldt County local author Nancy Resnick for a reading, lively Q&A and discussion of her debut women's fiction novel Redwood Curtain Rising, set in the remote and rugged beauty of Humboldt County. The emotionally resonant novel follows three women who meet at the exact moment their worlds are about to change and, through deepening friendship, face what they have lost, what they long for, and the courage to write a new life chapter — themes of chosen family, healing, reinvention, family secrets and personal growth. Attendees will hear an excerpt read by the author and engage in discussion centered on the book's themes. Humboldt County Library series: Thursday, September 10, 6 p.m. at Arcata Library (500 7th St, Arcata), Saturday, September 19, 2 p.m. at Trinidad Library (380 Janis Ct, Trinidad), and Wednesday, September 30, 6 p.m. at McKinleyville Library (1616 Pickett Rd, McKinleyville).
