Humboldt Dockside Market

The Humboldt Fishermen's Dockside Market brings fresh, locally caught seafood directly to the heart of Eureka at Madaket Plaza. From June through October, fishermen and seafood enthusiasts from Shelter Cove to Orick set up canopies and sell fish, crab and other specialties straight from their boats to the community. Shoppers can take their seafood home whole or have it processed at the on-site filet station, where they gain tips, recipes and insight into preparing their catch. At the market, customers meet the fishermen, hear stories about their trips to sea, learn about the region's long-standing fishing traditions, and understand the importance of local seafood in a sustainable food system. All of the vendors are Humboldt-based fishermen and seafood business owners, and more than just a place to buy fish, the market strengthens connections between fishermen and the community while supporting a resilient, sustainable local food system.
