About this event
The Fortuna Farmers' Market brings the bounty of local farms to the tables of its customers with a variety of farms, ranches, nurseries and prepared food vendors. All the produce and plants are grown in Humboldt County and are GMO-free. Visitors find plenty of fresh greens, garden starts, landscaping and edible plants, big juicy strawberries, then tomatoes and squash, peppers ranging from sweet bells to spicy Scotch Bonnets, fresh cut herbs and flowers, and peaches, plums and blackberries through most of the summer. Fall brings pumpkins, winter squash and locally bred and cultivated apple varieties, some from trees that are 100 years old. Produce comes from all over the county, from as far as Willow Creek and Kneeland to Carlotta and Ferndale.
