About this event
A celebration of Eastern European and Greek culture on the historic grounds of Saint Innocent Orthodox Church. A beloved Humboldt County tradition since 1997, the 'Taste of Orthodoxy' festival offers an afternoon of music, dance, and culinary delights from noon to 4 p.m. Enjoy homemade Greek food (gyros, spanakopita and more) and Eastern European fare (piroshki, blinchiki and more), sample imported beer, wine, vodka and ouzo at the full bar, and visit the tea room for international desserts paired with loose-leaf teas. Live entertainment by Chubritza, an internationally inspired local folk band, brings vibrant Balkan and Eastern European melodies plus free folk dancing lessons for all ages. Church tours with a Byzantine choir performance are also offered.
