About this event
The Eureka Symphony will hold chorus auditions from 1 to 4 p.m. on September 19 and 20 (1–4 p.m.) at Christ Episcopal Church in Eureka. Singers selected through the audition process will join the Eureka Symphony for its 'All-American Celebration' concert on March 5 and 6, 2027, at the Arkley Center for the Performing Arts (412 G St, Eureka). The concert celebrates George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, presented in concert form, with guest artists soprano Shawnette Sulker and baritone Bradley Kynard, plus Copland's Outdoor Overture and Music for Movies. Auditions are conducted by Conductor and Artistic Director Carol Jacobson and Chorus Master David Powell. All voice types are encouraged, with a special invitation to tenors and basses. Singers who have not performed with the chorus in over two years must re-audition. Rehearsals begin November 2, pause in December, and resume weekly in January. Auditions are by appointment only; contact Vanessa Kibbe at vkibbe@gmail.com or 707-845-3655, and see audition requirements at www.EurekaSymphony.org/auditions.
