About this event
Join Outdoor Adventures and the Women’s Resource Center for a free, beginner-friendly backpacking trip on the DeMartin Trail in Redwood National and State Parks. This all-women’s trip is an opportunity to build backcountry skills, connect with other students, and spend a weekend exploring the redwoods and North Coast together.
As part of the Forests For All program, experienced Outdoor Adventures guides will teach the basics of backpacking, including packing, camp setup, backcountry cooking, Leave No Trace, and other outdoor skills. A Redwood National and State Parks interpreter will also join the trip to share more about the park and the places we travel through.
No previous backpacking experience is required. Backpacking gear, transportation, breakfast, and dinner are provided.
Thanks to our partnership with Redwood National and State Parks and the Women’s Resource Center, this trip is free for Cal Poly Humboldt students.
There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting on Tuesday 9/8 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm in RWC 124 to gather all necessary backpacking equipment.
