A Novel Idea Book Group is a free monthly book club hosted by Humboldt County Library — attend in person at the Arcata Branch Library or virtually via Zoom. September's pick is "Theo of Golden" by Allen Levi (not David McCullough). The heartwarming debut novel follows a curious older man who quietly moves to the small Southern city of Golden and begins secretly giving back — purchasing 92 pencil portraits from a local coffeehouse and returning them to their subjects in exchange for their stories, weaving themes of generosity, connection, books, art and birds.
