Vorlust

Vorlust is a Bay Area extreme metal band from Oakland, California, that describes its sound as "beast metal" — a ferocious blend of blackened death metal and first-wave thrash. Formed in 2019 by vocalist and bassist Marcelle Marais (Cunnus), the group explores themes of animalism, feminine power and nature through chaotic, blood-soaked performances. Their debut album Lick the Flesh arrived in 2022 via Transylvanian Recordings, following the BEAST demo and the PISSKRYSTALS split with Astral Butcher, and in 2025 the band composed and performed the score for the short horror film SHRIEEK. The current lineup features Cunnus, guitarists Sonny Reinhardt (Necrot) and Dustin Ponko, and drummer Cody Stein.
