True North

True North is the Americana string duo of singer-songwriter Kristen Grainger and multi-instrumentalist Dan Wetzel, based in Salem, Oregon. Blending bluegrass-leaning folk, country, and roots music, they are known for richly crafted original songs, lush vocal harmonies, and deft acoustic instrumentation. Grainger's writing has earned top honors at the USA Songwriting Competition and recognition at Telluride, MerleFest, Kerrville, and Wintergrass, while the pair have released a string of acclaimed albums including Ghost Tattoo, Fear of Falling Stars, and Time and Materials. They tour nationally and internationally as both a duo and a fuller string band.
