Tristan Norton Band

Tristan Norton Band is the performing project of Eureka-based guitarist, bassist, composer, and improviser Tristan Norton, who holds a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies from the California Jazz Conservatory and spent ten years playing professionally in the San Francisco Bay Area before relocating to the Humboldt Bay region. He leads rotating ensembles (duo through quintet, including the Tristan Norton Quartet and TN3) performing adventurous modern jazz, funk, americana, and avant-garde material with the top players of the Humboldt jazz community. His 2024 album 'Time Travels West' presents nine original compositions spanning bop, Brazilian, contemporary, acid, latin, and cool jazz, featuring seminal Humboldt County musicians including Black Keys touring keyboardist John Wood.
