The Fifth Element

The Fifth Element (Le Cinquième Élément) is a 1997 English-language French science fiction-action film conceived and directed by Luc Besson and co-written with Robert Mark Kamen. Set in the 23rd century, it follows former special forces major turned taxi driver Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) after the humanoid Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) — the living embodiment of the fifth element — falls into his cab, joining him to recover four mystical stones to stop a great evil from destroying Earth. Starring Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and Chris Tucker with costume design by Jean Paul Gaultier and score by Éric Serra, it was the most expensive European film ever made at the time and grossed over $263 million worldwide.
