The Brothers Comatose

The Brothers Comatose is a five-piece San Francisco-based string band blending bluegrass, folk-rock and Americana into their self-described Goldengrass sound. Led by brothers Ben Morrison on guitar and Alex Morrison on banjo alongside Addie Levy on mandolin, Philip Brezina on violin and Steve Height on upright bass, the group delivers high-energy, harmony-rich shows rooted in traditional bluegrass with a California rock 'n' roll attitude. Formed in Petaluma in 2008 and debuting with Songs From The Stoop in 2010, they have released albums including Respect the Van, City Painted Gold and 2025's Golden Grass, and have played Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, High Sierra, Outside Lands and the Grand Ole Opry while touring with Yonder Mountain String Band, The Devil Makes Three and Lake Street Dive.
