The Breakers
The Breakers are a fun, high-energy rock 'n' roll dance band based in Shelter Cove in Southern Humboldt County. Known as a local favorite for packing dance floors with danceable classic rock, country and R&B plus their own original songs, they play community fundraisers, grange halls and festivals across the area. Notable appearances include opening for Melvin Seals and the Jerry Garcia Band at the Mateel Community Center, and regular spots at events like the Fishermen's Festival, Applefest, and Taste of the Cove. Founding bassist William 'Burgie Bill' Hebard, who contributed original songs like 'I'm Just a Man,' passed away in January 2025.
