The Big Lebowski

The Big Lebowski is a 1998 neo-noir crime comedy film written, directed, produced and co-edited by Joel and Ethan Coen. It stars Jeff Bridges as Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski, a Los Angeles slacker and avid bowler who is mistaken for a millionaire of the same name and becomes embroiled in a convoluted kidnapping and ransom scheme. Initially receiving mixed reviews, the film has since become a cult classic noted for its eccentric characters, idiosyncratic dialogue, dream sequences and eclectic soundtrack, and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2014.
