The Big Gabe

The Big Gabe is the stage nickname of vocalist Gabe Woodside, the featured frontman and Pigpen-style blues shouter for the all-star Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers tribute Live Dead & Brothers. He joined the project for its 2024 debut and handles the roadhouse soul and R&B material in the repertoire, taking lead on numbers like Hard to Handle, Mr. Charlie, It's a Man's Man's Man's World, and In the Midnight Hour. A touring live-sound professional, he also works behind the scenes as the ensemble's monitor engineer. Live Dead & Brothers recreates the 1969-1973 era when the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band shared bills and stages.
