Steel Pulse

Steel Pulse are a Grammy-winning British roots reggae band formed in 1975 in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, England. Founded by schoolmates David Hinds, Basil Gabbidon and Ronald McQueen, they rose from the Rock Against Racism movement with militant, socially conscious anthems like "Ku Klux Klan" and "Handsworth Revolution." Known for a mellifluous Rasta-funky blend of roots reggae with R&B and rock, they became the first non-Jamaican act to win the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album with Babylon the Bandit (1986) and have received nine Grammy nominations including Mass Manipulation (2019).
