SoHum Girls

The SoHum Girls are an all-original, all-Humboldt County dance band founded in Southern Humboldt (SoHum) when Marcia Mendels and Brigette Brannan began writing their own songs in the heart of the Redwood Empire. The six-piece group — four women and two men split between Southern and Northern Humboldt — now has more than 70 original songs spanning swing, funk, country, rock, blues, ballads and New Orleans grooves, reflecting joy, variety, energy and fun. They have released albums including Put It in Drive (2010), One More Kiss (2010) and Fearless (2014) and are regulars at Humboldt events including Arts Alive at the Morris Graves Museum of Art and the Humboldt Botanical Garden Summer Music Series.
