Sean Powers

Sean Powers is an Arcata, California-based artist, musician, storyteller, and shadow puppeteer. He creates whimsical sculptures, puppets, and shadow-theatre pieces from recycled and found materials, and performs original shadow plays drawn from folk tales around the world. He has been performing shadow puppetry since 1996, with more than 1,300 shows at schools, libraries, museums, and festivals across California and Oregon, including the Iida Puppet Festival in Japan. He frequently collaborates with his brother Kevin Powers on large-scale recycled-material art exhibitions.
