The Redwood Interfaith Gospel Choir is a community choir based in Arcata, California, that sings uplifting Black gospel and spiritual music across the North Coast. Rooted in the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir founded in May 1992 after a performance by the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, the choir was reorganized under Playhouse Arts in 2022 with guidance from Oakland director Terrance Kelly. Co-directed by Jenni Simpson and Jim Hubbard and backed by a full band, RIGC performs gospel, spirituals, freedom songs and contemporary gospel at community events, benefits, memorials, churches, and the Humboldt County jail. The non-profit ensemble, now in its 35th season, presents a large annual end-of-season concert, its 34th edition held at the Eureka Theater in 2026.
