Polimana (they/them) is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and multimedia artist who coined the term "progfolk" for a dynamic, angular blend of intimate roots music, fuzzed-out guitar and prose-poetry lyricism. Moving between ukulele, banjo, guitar and synth, they write, record, mix, master and self-release their own work, including the Strange Folk volumes, Companion for Every Scary Meadow and Two Riddles. A Rainey Day Fund grant recipient and South Porch Artist Residency scholarship holder, they have performed and taught at the Humboldt Folklife Festival and appeared on records by Jessica's Brother, Hiroki Sugi and Ladyfern.
