Pan Dulce Steel Drum Orchestra

Pan Dulce Steel Orchestra is a 30-piece community steel drum band based in Arcata, on California's North Coast. Formed in 2001 by Kate Lang-Salazar, John Salazar, and Michael Skweir, the group grew out of the Pan Arts Network, the steel drum school and pan-building workshop the trio established in 1999. Performing a vibrant Caribbean repertoire of Trinidadian calypso and soca, the orchestra has released two albums, Panyard Vibrations (2005) and Ah Fus Yuh Sweet: The Music of Ray Holman (2010). The ensemble is a fixture at Humboldt County gatherings such as the Humboldt Folklife Festival and celebrations on the Arcata Plaza.
