Louise Bichan

Louise Bichan is a Scottish fiddler, composer, and photographer from the Orkney Islands, now based in New England. Blending traditional and classical arrangements, she composes in response to her island roots and the people, nature, and stories around her, with a style that is thoughtful, complex, curious, and playful. Her solo debut Out of My Own Light (2016) was followed by The Lost Summer (2024) and Binnorie (2026), and she performs both solo and as one half of the duo Hildaland with mandolinist Ethan Setiawan.
