Labyrinth (1986) 40th Anniversary

Labyrinth is a 1986 musical fantasy film directed by Jim Henson from a screenplay by Terry Jones, based on a story by Dennis Lee and Henson, and executive produced by George Lucas. A co-production of Henson Associates and Lucasfilm starring David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King and Jennifer Connelly as teenager Sarah Williams, it follows Sarah's journey through a fantastical maze to rescue her baby brother Toby from the Goblin King's castle. Though it underperformed at the US box office on release, it became a major cult classic via home video and television and is now celebrated for Brian Froud's creature designs and Bowie's original songs.
