Kris Tokarski's Chicagoans

Kris Tokarski's Chicagoans is a traditional jazz and swing ensemble led by New Orleans-based pianist Kris Tokarski. The group draws on the hot jazz of 1920s and '30s Chicago, blending ragtime, stride, and New Orleans piano traditions into a swinging, historically grounded sound. Tokarski, a Berklee College of Music graduate who studied at the University of New Orleans, has led and performed with the Riverside Jazz Collective and Hal Smith's groups and appears regularly at festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Fest, and the Redwood Coast Music Festival.
