Josh Stein

Josh Stein is a multidisciplinary artist based in Napa, California, working primarily in metallic, iridescent, and fluorescent acrylics, industrial plastics, and mixed media. His paintings and sculptural installations explore optical disruption, deep pattern, and color, drawing on influences of Pop art, tattoo flash and lining techniques, and Abstract Surrealism and Expressionism. His work has been exhibited at the Pop and Contemporary Art Museum in Tallinn, the CICA Museum in Seoul, and Burning Man, among many other venues. He is also a prolific published artist, musician, writer, and professor with advanced degrees from the University of California, the University of Liverpool, and the School of Visual Arts.
