Josh Brough & Friends is a San Francisco Bay Area jamgrass and Americana collective led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Josh Brough, co-founder of Northern California jamgrass institution Poor Man's Whiskey. Blending high-energy old-time and bluegrass on banjo, guitar and mandolin with psychedelic blues and jam-rock improvisation, the project spotlights heartfelt original songs about life and the American landscape alongside exploratory, dance-friendly jams. Rooted in influences from John Prine, Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark to the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers, the rotating Friends lineup hosts weekly residencies and community jams at HopMonk Tavern in Novato and Fairfax while continuing the celebrated Dark Side of the Moonshine tribute tradition.
