Joel Paterson's Swingin' Strings

Joel Paterson's Swingin' Strings is a project led by Chicago guitar and steel guitar master Joel Paterson, a mainstay of the Chicago roots music scene for over two decades. The group showcases his fluid, vintage-inspired instrumental style, drawing on jazz, blues, rockabilly, country and western swing in the spirit of Les Paul and Chet Atkins. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Paterson is a longtime Green Mill regular and an in-demand session player who has recorded and toured with the Cactus Blossoms, JD McPherson, Pokey LaFarge and Deke Dickerson. His trio features upright bassist Beau Sample and drummer Alex Hall.
