Jenny Scheinman

Jenny Scheinman is a jazz violinist, composer, bandleader, and singer raised in the remote Humboldt County community of Petrolia on California's Lost Coast. Equally at home in avant-garde jazz and roots-oriented Americana, she led her own bands during more than a decade on the New York creative music scene before returning to Humboldt County in 2012. Her albums include 12 Songs, named one of the New York Times' top ten albums of 2005, and All Species Parade, a 2024 double album inspired by her native landscape. She has toured and recorded with Bill Frisell, Lucinda Williams, Ani DiFranco, Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell, and Metallica, and appears on the original cast recording of Hadestown.
