Izaak Opatz

Izaak Opatz is a Montana-born singer-songwriter whose wry, confessional songs blend indie folk, alt-country and slacker pop. He fronted the Missoula country-rock band The Best Westerns before going solo, releasing Mariachi Static (2018), Hot & Heavy-Handed (2020) and Extra Medium (2022) through Mama Bird Recording Co. His lyrics trade in heartbreak, nostalgia and self-deprecating humor, delivered over warm, unhurried arrangements. He has shared stages with Jackson Browne, James McMurtry, Susto, Jonny Fritz and Taylor Goldsmith, and lives in Missoula, where he also runs a custom leather shop.
