Isle of Dogs

Isle of Dogs is a 2018 stop-motion animated science fiction comedy-drama written, produced and directed by Wes Anderson. Set in the fictional Japanese city of Megasaki, the film follows 12-year-old Atari Kobayashi who flies to garbage-dump Trash Island to search for his bodyguard dog Spots after all dogs are exiled by executive decree due to a canine influenza pandemic. An American-German-British co-production that opened the 68th Berlin International Film Festival where Anderson won the Silver Bear for Best Director, it received critical acclaim for its animation, story and deadpan humor and was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score.
