Ilyas Ahmed

Ilyas Ahmed is a Portland, Oregon-based guitarist, vocalist, and visual artist who makes a hazy yet intimate form of psychedelic folk. He layers acoustic and electric guitars with harmonium, organ, tanpura, percussion, and ethereal treatments, and has been releasing music since 2005, beginning with self-issued CD-Rs recorded on an isolated farm. His catalog includes the albums Goner, With Endless Fire, I Am All Your Own, and Closer to Stranger, alongside collaborations with Grouper (as Visitor), Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Golden Retriever, and Dania Shihab. He is also a live member of the instrumental psychedelic group Grails.
